A bit about me and why I do what I do

Chatting with my dear friend Heidi, today, it was decided that I would begin a blog. Not so much so I can use it as a "rant space" but more so that you, my dear and valued supporters, can keep updated with my business progress and exciting developments from Perle Jewellery & Makeup

To start with, I want to share with you what I do for love & work. I have operated my own business for over 6 years now, starting out in the early days making jewellery & selling it through jewellery parties and market stalls. I had also always loved makeup and how it could enhance one's features, and slowly began doing wedding makeup for friends and friends of friends. A couple of years later, I realised how much I loved doing both the jewellery designing, and makeup artistry. I realised that there was a niche market for such a business, where I could not only make someone over with my makeup skills, but guide them through individual styling of their jewellery & bridal accessories, ultimately producing a bridal party with the complete look- Beautiful, naturally enhanced makeup with stunning accessories to perfectly compliment the style and colour of dresses. Not only that, but it allows the bride to experience a uniquely personalised service, where she not only receives advice and guidance on her accessories and makeup, but can share with me her own ideas and dreams for me to the translate and turn into reality.

In today's world of internet-sourcing and social media sharing, it seems difficult to create something that is unique and individual, especially for your wedding day- everyone has already "been there, done that..." and exhausted all of the creative ideas, with a long line of followers & replicators to boot. But when you choose my services, every piece of jewellery I create is unique, designed according to your own brief and preferences, and interpreted by my vision and creative juices.

When I'm working as a makeup artist, I feel so blessed and privileged to work alongside so many wonderful and unique women.

Believe me, I don't take it lightly that my clients allow me to be so up-close-and-personal with them as I do their makeup. I feel honoured that they trust me enough to see them without their makeup, exposing what they may call their "flaws" and insecurities. But truth is, we all have things that we notice about ourselves and don't absolutely love. I know there are certain parts about myself that I'd rather not draw attention to, but that's the beauty of makeup- you can enhance all of the bits you are proud of and love, and hide the bits that are a little less desirable! This is what I seek to do at all times with my clients- I'll ask what bits you love and which bits you don't, and carefully act in way which both respects AND reflects your personal style.

And of course, my services are not limited just to weddings. I absolutely love it when a client shows me an outfit they're wearing to a special event, and says "Make me a pair of fabulous earrings to match!" It's so nice that my clients trust me and my "eye" to come up with something that's perfect for them.

I can't wait to share a stack of photos with you of the things I'm loving at the moment in my realm of makeup & jewellery. Keep an eye out for highlights of recent weddings & new jewellery items. We all love a pretty pic so I'll try and keep the writing to a minimum and let the photos do the talking!!

Thanks for reading....
Much love xo
